Commonwealth of Virginia Guidelines
A notary is not required to charge a fee for services, but if a fee is charged, it cannot be more than $5 for each notarial act (in-person). Virginia eNotaries may charge up to $25 per notarial act. A Virginia notary may notarize a document to be filed and used outside of Virginia if it is signed and notarized in Virginia.

Merlenda Harris was appointed as a Notary Public since 2003 by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Merlenda has provided a variety of services to Virginians as a traditional and mobile Notary. Merlenda has conducted jurat oaths and acknowledgements, created estate planning documents (e.g. living wills, last will and testaments, etc.), created contracts, created bills of sale, and created other sensitive documents. Merlenda was recently commissioned as an electronic Notary (eNotary) in 2023. Merlenda is a current member of the National Notary Association (NNA) and the American Association of Notaries (AAN). Merlenda is NNA certified Background Screened and a Notary Signing Agent.
